Creatine Ethyl Ester


Creatine ethyl ester is a recently introduced supplement that is considered to be the most effective chemical form of creatine currently on the market. It contains an ester group attached to its analogue, creatine monohydrate, which markedly improves its lipophilicity and half life. The former implies that creatine ethyl ester is more readily able to travel through fat cells to reach target muscle tissue and therein, transverse the fat structured muscle cell membrane. A greater half life suggests that it is less susceptible to degradation by cellular enzymes and thus retained longer within muscle cells to exert its strength forming effects that results in the muscle appearing solid for a greater length of time.

There are no recognised side-effects associated with the short or long-term intake of creatine ethyl ester provided that the standard dose is adhered to. It seeks to overcome the occurrences of bloating and BSN Cell Masscramping commonly encountered with creatine monohydrate. In this case, a high level of creatine accumulates on the exterior of muscle cells and attracts water thereby causing these experiences. Unlike creatine monohydrate, which is generally absorbed poorly by the body, creatine ethyl ester has high potency (around 40 times potent than creatine monohydrate). Therefore, it is required in lower dosages.

Creatine ethyl ester is available in powders or capsules and can be taken in either form according to the preferences of the individual. It is recommended to take one or two doses daily, ideally on an empty stomach. On training days, 1.5-3g of creatine ethyl ester should be taken 30-60 minutes before your workout. A further 1.5-3g may be taken immediately afterwards for optimal results. On rest days, take 1.5g-3g once or twice daily (Leave at least eight hours in between doses). Remember to drink a lot of water to keep hydrated and to achieve maximal effects. Unlike creatine  monohydrate, there is no requirement to load or cease cycling with creatine ethyl ester.
